Description

Copper toxicity rears its ugly head periodically on a regional or national level when there are feed mixing errors of commercial feeds, but also occurs on a smaller scale with small feed mill errors, feeding of species-inappropriate feeds on multi-species farms, and treatment with copper-containing medications. In addition to treatment obligations, veterinarians are often charged with documenting copper toxicity for legal proceedings. This session will discuss diagnosis, treatment and documentation of copper toxicity.
