Description

Add analgesia to the list of ways that sheep and goats are not small cows. Small ruminants require special consideration when it comes to analgesic drugs and techniques and their small size allows us to perform some techniques not feasible in larger ruminants. We will discuss analgesia and sedation protocols for dehorning, tail docking (I’m no fan, but let’s intervene regarding pain), C-section, urolithiasis and fractures. Tips for managing ongoing pain using local and systemic drugs and techniques are all in here to really give you all the tools you need to address any painful or potentially painful small ruminant that comes your way.
