The length of disease in most animals with weight loss can make it very difficult to determine a definitive cause – there are few obvious clues and the back story is often shady. If you’re frustrated by the mystery of the chronic weight loss animal, I give you my exact workup plan in this module! Starting with the physical exam, selection of blood testing (I’m actually going to talk you out of lots of expensive testing!), using ultrasound, and finding other clues to show you where the problem is. I use two cases to demonstrate how these cases usually progress so you’ll know exactly how I interpret and apply my findings.
